Winter Classes

Looking for a fun, easy way to get your kids outside this winter?
Our Winter Ice Fishing Classes are the perfect screen-free adventure!
Designed with busy parents in mind, we make drop-off simple with everything your child needs provided—including gear, bait, and even a cozy warming house stocked with hot chocolate. Kids will learn the essentials of safe ice fishing, from picking the right spot and drilling holes to using cutting-edge technology like a live scope. With short walks from shore to safe ice locations, your child will have plenty of time to catch crappies, sunfish, perch, walleye, and northern—all while building confidence and having a blast with friends. Our classes are held on Lake Minnetonka and Lotus Lake in Chanhassen depending on conditions.
Small group classes are available on no-school days, after school and on weekends. You can also gather your own group and make it private with a minimum of 4 kids. Spots fill fast, so grab your date and let us handle the rest!

Hi, I’m Andrew Bendt!
I’ve been fishing on Lake Minnetonka since I could barely hold a rod—starting at age 2 with my grandpa. I caught my biggest muskie (48 inches!) when I was just 10, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
After studying the great outdoors at Bemidji State, I decided to turn my passion into something even more rewarding: teaching kids how to fish. Whether your child is brand new to fishing or already knows their way around a tackle box, I make sure every outing is fun, hands-on, and full of learning—with plenty of patience built in.
A middle school teacher once took the time to introduce me to Lake Minnetonka in a way I’ll never forget. That experience stuck with me—and now I’m excited to pass that same kind of memory-making adventure on to your kids.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out! You can fill out the form below or call/text me anytime at (952) 380-7117.
Let’s trade screen time for reel time. Can’t wait to share the lake with your kids. It's an experience they will always remember!

ABOUT
Safety
We understand that safety is a top priority when it comes to your kids. We want to make sure that when you drop off your child, you have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.
We keep our group sizes small with a maximum of 12 kids per class, ensuring plenty of personal attention and supervision. If we have more than 8 kids, we’ll have an additional staff member on hand, so each child gets the care and attention they deserve. For comparison, a typical middle school field trip has just 1 adult supervisor for every 10-15 students, so you can rest assured your child will be well-looked after.
All participants will be required to wear a PFD life vest. We have a supply of PFD fishing life vests, or you're welcome to bring their own.
In the event of bad weather, we have contingency plans in place to avoid issues.
To make sure we stay connected, every parent will have my personal cell phone number, so you can reach me anytime if you have any questions or concerns throughout the day. Your child's safety and enjoyment are our top priority!
